Audacity Tutorial

This tutorial is not meant to be a comprehensive tutorial, rather, it is intended to show how you can use Audacity to remove parts of songs. The same techniques can be used to combine several songs into a mix.

Go to the Audacity Project Page and download Audacity. Open the file and follow the click-through to install.

Determine what part you would like to remove. This is typically a section somewhere in the middle of the song - a verse, a long solo, a repeated chorus - or it can be an ending that you would like to cut short.

Endings are pretty easy to cut short - just find where you want it to end and cut the rest off. You'll probably want to use a fade out instead of an abrupt end, but it all depends on the song and what you want it to sound like.

If it's a section in the middle of the song, I open 2 copies of the track. TODO...

There are many other features available too - noise removal, pitch and tempo effects, and recording.
