D-Light has traditionally offered its hardware at different levels: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Silver models typically are the bare bones circuit boards and firmware chip. The rest of the components are purchased separately and it is up to the user to assemble the board. This requires the use of a soldering iron and novice-level soldering skills. The Gold models are already assembled but still need some extra assembly including attaching extension cords, heat sinks (optional), and mounting the board in an enclosure (optional, but recommended). The Platinum models are all inclusive.
The model number itself describes the power source (AC or DC) and the number of channels it can drive
